Comments

The Grand Prix class 12mR yacht KZ5 LAURA is a pure racing yacht, offering thrills and excitement. Commissioned by the New Zealand Americas Cup syndicate of 1986 to compete in the 1987 Americas Cup in Perth, the Australian-built KZ5 LAURA is a true pedigreed racing sailing yacht built by McMullen & Wing. She is one of the rare fiberglass built Twelves beside her two sister ships KZ7 (KIWI MAGIC) and KZ3, designed by Laurie Davidson, Bruce Farr and Ron Holland. KZ5 LAURA has been continuously updated throughout her life with her most notable refit occurring in 2010. During this time, New England Boatworks gave KZ5 LAURA a complete makeover that included a new mast, boom, rudder, rigging, keel modifications, paintwork, hydraulics and a completely new deck hardware and winch package, offering its new owner a yacht in excellent condition. In addition, from 2016 to 2017, the sailing yacht received North Sails 3DI Grand Prix sailing package, ensuring she is ready to race as soon as you are.
